Frequently Asked Questions

Every product has a story, and so do the questions we are asked along the way. From our ingredients to shipping and skincare advice, we've answered our most frequently asked questions below.

Our products are made using carefully selected natural ingredients, including Australian grown olive oil, beeswax, botanical extracts, plant oils and essential oils. Where possible, we choose naturally derived ingredients that are gentle, effective and kind to the skin. We do not use parabens, sulphates and we never test on animals. Like many natural skincare products, we use a gentle preservative to keep products safe and stable. This helps ensure your products remain fresh and effective throughout their shelf life.

Yes. Every Olieve & Olie product is proudly handmade in Australia at our factory on Victoria's beautiful Mornington Peninsula. From blending and pouring through to filling, labelling and packing, every step is completed by our small team with care and attention to detail.

All of our products are handcrafted in small batches at our factory in Rosebud on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Making everything ourselves allows us to maintain exceptional quality, freshness and consistency. It's also why every order is packed by hand before it leaves our warehouse.

We believe beautiful skincare starts with beautiful ingredients. Our products are made with Australian extra virgin olive oil, locally sourced beeswax, nourishing plant oils, rich botanical butters, pure essential oils and carefully selected natural extracts. Every ingredient is chosen for a purpose, not simply to fill a bottle. We believe in creating products that are gentle, effective and enjoyable to use every day.

Many of our customers have sensitive or easily irritated skin and choose Olieve & Olie because of our gentle formulations. Our products are free from parabens, sulphates and harsh detergents, and are made with nourishing olive oil and botanical ingredients. As everyone's skin is different, we always recommend performing a patch test before using any new skincare product, particularly if you have allergies or very sensitive skin.

Many of our products are vegan, although not our entire range. Our vegan products include: Hand & Body Wash Face Oils Clementine Body Oil Shave Gel Hand Sanitiser Bath Salts Salt & Sugar Scrubs Coffee Scrubs Salt Scrub Jar Face & Body Exfoliant Reed Diffusers Some of our products contain natural beeswax, including our hand creams, body butters, lip balms, handmade soaps and candles, while our Goat Milk Soap contains goat milk. If you're ever unsure whether a particular product is vegan, please get in touch. We're always happy to help.

Yes. Everything is manufactured by hand...

Yes, absolutely. Olieve & Olie products are cruelty-free and are never tested on animals.

On some of our products you'll see "Parfum" listed in the ingredients. This doesn't refer to a synthetic fragrance. It's our natural preservative, Naticide®, which is made from naturally derived plant extracts and is approved for use in natural skincare. Australian ingredient labelling regulations require it to be listed as "Parfum", even though its purpose is preservation rather than fragrance.

We offer free standard shipping Australia-wide on orders over $120 after discounts have been applied. Orders under $120 are charged a flat shipping rate of $14. Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout.

Many of our products are suitable to use during pregnancy. However, because some products contain essential oils, we always recommend checking with your doctor, midwife or healthcare professional before introducing any new skincare products during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you have any questions about a specific product or ingredient, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We'd be more than happy to help.

Yes. Like all natural skincare products, our products have a recommended shelf life. Most products have a shelf life of 12-24 months unopened and are best used within 6–12 months after opening, depending on the product. To help keep your products at their best, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and always replace the lid after use.

Because we use natural ingredients, slight variations in colour, texture, scent and consistency can occasionally occur. Ingredients such as olive oil, beeswax, botanical extracts and essential oils can vary slightly from one harvest to the next, much like fresh produce. Seasonal changes and natural temperature fluctuations can also influence the appearance of our products. These small differences are completely normal and are simply a reflection of the natural ingredients we use. We like to think they're part of what makes our skincare so special. They're a reminder that your product has been handcrafted by real people using real, naturally derived ingredients. That said, if you ever receive a product you're concerned about or you're not completely happy with it, please get in touch. We genuinely care about every customer we serve, and we'll always do our best to make it right.

Still Have a Question?

We're a small family business, so when you get in touch, you'll be speaking directly with the people who make your products. Whether you need help choosing the right skincare, have a question about an ingredient, or simply want to know more about how we make our products, we're always happy to help. We love hearing from our customers and are only ever a phone call or email away.
