Our story
What began with a small olive grove and a simple bar of handmade soap has grown into a family business dedicated to creating beautiful, natural skincare. More than two decades later, every product is still thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches using Australian-grown olive oil, botanical ingredients and time-honoured methods. We believe quality skincare begins with thoughtfully chosen natural ingredients, carefully handcrafted with time, care and attention.
How it all began
Olieve & Olie began on the banks of Gunbower Creek in northern Victoria, where founders Andy and Jude Steele planted an olive grove.
After the grove's first harvest, Jude began experimenting with handmade olive oil soap in her kitchen, inspired by the remarkable nourishing qualities of olive oil.
What started as a personal passion quickly became something much bigger, as family and friends fell in love with the products and demand continued to grow.
In 2010, Andy and Jude made the move to Victoria's beautiful Mornington Peninsula, bringing Olieve & Olie with them.
Working from a small home studio in St Andrews Beach, Jude expanded the range beyond soap to include hand creams, body care and home fragrance.
All the while, staying true to the same philosophy that had guided the business from the beginning: natural ingredients, handcrafted quality and products made with genuine care.
As the business continued to grow, Olieve & Olie moved into its factory in Rosebud in 2015, allowing the range to expand while remaining true to the handcrafted values on which the business was founded.
Today, Olieve & Olie is proudly family owned and operated by Andy, Jude, Sarah and Hal. Every product is still made in small batches using carefully selected natural ingredients, with the same care and attention to detail that has been at the heart of the business since the very beginning.
More than twenty years on, we're incredibly grateful that what began in a family kitchen has found its way into homes across Australia. Every order, every returning customer and every stockist has helped shape our journey, and we're truly honoured to be part of yours.
Our ingredients
Every ingredient in an Olieve & Olie product is carefully chosen for its quality and purpose. From Australian-grown olive oil and our beeswax from Castlemaine to rich botanical butters, pure essential oils and mineral-rich salt from Pyramid Hill, every ingredient is selected to nourish the skin and create products you'll love to use every day.
We believe exceptional skincare begins with exceptional ingredients, which is why we take the time to source ingredients we know and trust. By working with Australian growers and trusted suppliers wherever possible, we're proud to know where our ingredients come from and to craft every product with the same care we'd use for our own family.
How we make it
Rich, nourishing cocoa butter, carefully selected to soften and protect the skin.
Freshly poured olive oil soap, beginning its six-week curing process.
Every bar of soap is carefully wrapped by hand in our Rosebud factory.
